Basic Forging Techniques/Make & Take Projects)
Learn how to texture metal with hammers to create your own piece of jewelry. No experience is necessary and tools and materials are supplied.  These classes are appropriate for children 12 & up and are booked directly with the host organizations.

Choose from 9am or 1pm sessions. Classes are FREE and are limited to the first 15 registrants. Enrollment opens once each class is officially announced. Spots usually fill within days, so call early to reserve your seat. Channel your inner blacksmith and make your own forged metal jewelry! Pick a project on the right, and call or email Ellen to set the date. Hosting a class is a great alternative for birthdays, showers, bridesmaids’ parties, etc. 

$25 per person or $20 per person for parties of 4+.

Basic Jewelry Fabrication

In this class, students learn the basics of creating jewelry
using aluminum and copper. The number of finished projects is dependent on the student’s speed and at least, will include one pair of earrings and one pendant. Topics covered include use of a jeweler’s saw; forging, drilling, filing and finishing; basic soldering and adhesives; patinas and sealers; making jump rings and ear wires. If time allows, riveting and other cold connections may be taught. Click for additional class info or for a general supply resource sheet.

This workshop is 12 class hours at a minimum of 2 hours per class and no more than six students per time slot. Appropriate for ages 15 and up. Includes materials, tools and use of equipment. Basic tool kits will be available for purchase at the end of class. Click to register.
