Each month, Julie and Scott Owens invite different artists for a month-long show and sale at their coffeehouse located in the heart of downtown.  Scott, a published writer and English instructor at Lenoir Rhyne University, also hosts Poetry Hickory, which is held on the second Tuesday of the month.  

Hickory Furniture Mart Furniture Festival & Clearance Sale

The Furniture Festival celebrates craftsmanship of all levels – from handcrafted furniture that has been made in this region for years, to the skills of various artist and artisan craftspeople.  Shop the annual clearance, learn what makes 8-way hand tied springs worth paying for, and shop local artists’ wares.
Although the festival runs all weekend, I will only participate on Saturday.

RiverWalk Arts Festival

RiverWalk features original art by NC artists live music, food vendors and lots of kids’ activities including the fab Imagination Castle!  This event is produced in partnership between the Town of Bermuda Run and the Davie County Arts Council.

Downtown Hickory Fall Art Crawl

Downtown Hickory’s merchants host local artists and craftspeople twice a year for their Art Crawl.  Come to town to shop fabulous work in a multitude of media. During your walkabout, be sure to sip a craft brew at one of four beer destinations or have dinner at one of our many restaurants.

All of our guest artists, studio mate Camille Inman, and I want to thank everyone who came to HArts for the first two Pop Up Markets held in December. It was fabulous and in some cases, a wonderful reunion!
